Its been a year and a half since my last post, so much has happened, some good and some sad. Have got a few new tattoos including a large back piece of the design opposite. Took an hour and a half and both me and the tattooist had cramp in our legs when it was finished! Additionally I have a couple of piercings to go with my tattoos. I have gotten the piercings that I had to remove when I got my hand operated on a few years back as well as a couple extra.

I'm now in third of four years at Uni, everything seems to be going OK, struggling abit on a research paper and have an assignment in that will be marked over the Christmas break, hopefully it'll be a good mark. The lectures are very different to the first two years now we're based at the Warwick campus full time. More people and less interaction than before but the whole experience so far has been good, not sure I'll feel the same at exam time!

The wee man is now two and a half, his brother is 7 and sister is 9! It makes me feel old at times, not long before she's a teenager. Hopefully she'll take after me and her teenage years will pass without incident. They're all doing well and enjoying school and nursery, the wee man hates it when we pick him up, he'd love to spend all his time at nursery, only the Goddess knows how he's going to be when the nursery is closed for Christmas and new year for a week and a half? All three of them are looking forward to Christmas, especially the gifts it brings! But what child does not look forward to presents?

I now have my husky and enjoying him immensely, love taking him out for walks and then there's scootering! It gives him a nice work out and is often accompanied by Flame, a friends dog on pulling the scooter. It goes at a reasonable pace, and except a bruised ankle and some bruised ribs the experience has been enjoyable. I even had fun when I bruised my ribs, glad I remembered the padding that day though. I would recommend people to try it, its very exhilarating!

Sunday 17 July 2011

Its been a whole academic year since my last post. A long time, too long.

Finished my first year at Uni, passed my exams with good marks, final marks for the year are good. 2:2 for policy and practice, 2:2 for child development, and 2:1 for social aspect of childhood. So through to second year! Is that a good thing?? Will have to wait and see.

Met some of the newbe's. They looked a little lost, but should be fine. It was different to our meet and great, and apparently the first year of the course is being changed a little. Good luck to them.

Little man is getting big, he's over a year old now, he's currently terrorising the house at the time of writting this. He did a sponsered swim ysterday to raise money for Tommys the premature baby charity. He enjoyed splashing around the pool. Maresa has some pics and no doubt they'll end up on Facebook.

Have enjoyed reading for pleasure since the course finished for summer, already through five books. Just finished my last one, need to find another to read now. My Waterstone card has certainly had a work out.

Healths been abit up and down, have to see another specialist for them, but at least I'm of two of my meds, so I rattle a little less. I would like to get it all sorted before the start of my next term, but this is the NHS and a Conservative led government. They're cutting the funding in order to force things to be privatised. Welcome back Thatcherism {David Cameron says he's compleately different but we all see past the spin}. Everything is being damaged by him, I will go as far as saying that he will even destroy things before he's finished.

Will there even be anywhere to get a job once I've finished my Degree? One MP told me there will be at the end of my course, but thats probably because there will be another general election and Labour will be back in power and starting to fix this Governments hack and slash on the UK.

The kitchen is nearly sorted, the electrition should be out tomorrow to fit the new light after the kitchen ceiling came through during the easter break, between builders and insurance its taken awhile. Mid August we're getting new double glazing, its all go, once thats all done then got to convert the spare room into the littlemans bedroom. Oh what fun is this holiday going to be. My sister-in-law also has me supervising all her stuff when it arrives to Manchester from London.

Have new addition to the household in the form of a bearded dragon called Merlyn, but unfourtunatly we've lost two of our ferrets, with McBeth dying only yesterday, may you rest in peace my friend.

Have also obtained some new Reiki qualifications. But not stopping there! Want to do more so watch this space.

Well till the next, take care and Blessed Be

The end of the first week of Uni

Well I've made it to the end of the first week!! I did have thoughts of running away when the work kept coming and coming and coming....."Why did I decide to do this?" screamed in my head, but I'm still there. The early mornings are not agreeing with me, but given time they might get better, I'm not looking to the early mornings in the winter and the snow's on the ground.

Kynan has had his first week {well three days} at nursery whilst I'm in my lectures. They all love him there, and they all have had their cuddles. He has taken it all in his stride with a couple of cheeky grins and big wide eyed stares. Its handy knowing that he's on site if there's ever a problem. The wife is abit worried and is experiencing a little separation anxiety and still experiencing 'baby brain' and arguing over who's the most tired.

We had a review this morning about what we thought of this first week. The points we raised are going to be looked at and then used to fine tune the course for next years influx. Hope it helps them, but they'll still probably feel the same anxieties that we felt this first week. If student finance would just get their acts together I would feel a little more secure, but everything in its own time.

I'm looking forward to having a little rest over the weekend, but with everything else going on I don't think I'll have much, and hopefully the cat will be quiet tonight instead of moaning every five seconds. To Sleep!!

First Day at Uni

My first day at Uni. What can I say? I enjoyed it but was a little anxious as its a big step, its the next four years and is going to give me a nice chunk of debt, all for wanting to better myself and give my family a better life.

Allot of information given, it made sense at the time yet my brain seemed to forget it as soon as I walked through my front door. What do I need to do for the Study Skills???

Today was kind of similar to the final months of the Access course, everything was coming thick and fast, it was a shame that my brain just couldn't keep up. One thing that I should have remembered today was a memory stick for backing up work and allowing me to work on it at home.

Having Kynan in nursery was strange, I became a little anxious and worried, although I think that some of that had been absorbed from my wife. After a week or two she should settle, it's strange how different people express their feelings and over which subjects. Barrie Orton you managed to get the psychology gears turning and they make you look at things differently. Always questioning things.

Today has been so tiring, hopefully after a couple of days it will get better, but I have a feeling it'll be a couple of weeks

Till Next Time
A few things have happened since my last entry. My daughter has had her birthday and is now a Lady, she really enjoyed the day. I enjoyed spending some extra time with her and my other son {he's currently planning what he wants for his birthday}.

We have been invited to my parents house, they even gave me their address. Don't know what was up with my dad, he was being nice! Maybe they've changed his meds or something!?!

It has taken awhile, but I finally had my acceptance to Uni through. With a weeks notice my preparation for Uni was abit more stressful than planned. But by the grace of the Goddess we managed to get childcare for Kynan sorted. It's going to cost a pretty penny, but its a good place and they're well trained, so he should be happy there.

Summer holidays have been nice, but also busy with Kynan, the other two sprogs and my nan. Hopefully I'll be able to fit all my commitments around my Uni timetable and still have time for myself. I can hear the clapping as I get ready for another juggling act!

Kynan's Lordship

Hello out there

Hello to every one out there, having somehow lost access to my last blog, I thought I'd start another one, the other can be seen at http://ramblingsofacelticdad.blogspot.com/ This entry introduced my youngest son Kynan, my first with my wife, but I do have two other children from a previous relationship, so Kynan's already got a built in big brother and an even bigger sister.

We've just had the in-laws down, they've enjoyed spending time with all the children and being grandparents, we even had Granddad feeding and winding the little one! They're wonderful to my other two as well, and we even took a family trip out to Twycross, that was an interesting day out. It went from dry to drizzle to torrential down poor at a snap-of-the-fingers. The kids enjoyed looking at all the animals, I enjoyed seeing the Amur leopards which I sponsor in the wild through the WWF. Kynan fitted in really well as he was dressed in his leopard spot travel suit. The Scottish wildcats were amazing, it was nice to see them as they can be allusive and are rumoured to be on our estates in Scotland.

Talking of our estates, Kynans paperwork came through and he's now a Lord and have gotten all his things changed to his new title. His granddad is giving some mild stick trying to say he's English because his mother is, I think he's starting to realise that he'll never win that argument with me or my daughter as she has already started to tell him that he's wrong and Scotland is best, quite funny to watch!!
